Day 3
29/12
Woke up, took MTR to Lai King, then to Sunny Bay, then took the cute customized MTR to Disneyland!
We arrived just in time for a scheduled live show - Festival of the Lion King. Personally, I think it was the best show for the day.
The cast danced and sang. Daymn, black people really know howta sing. It was sth like a combination of acting and musical. There were also naughty peformers playing with fire-lit sticks. I don't call them fireeaters for they din eat any. They wielded the fired staffs so skillfully it got everyone gasping in awe. All in all, the show was mainly about the Lion King story, about how lil Simba grown up and snatched the throne out of Scar's grasp in the end with the aid of many dramatic special effects, stage sets and mechanised animals. It was simply GREAT.
*I don't take photos or record videos when the shows are very interesting. It disturbs my focus, my mood to watch the show haha.*
As soon as the show ended, we rushed to another show - Philhar Magic. We sat in a theatre with a big screen in front and wore a pair of 3D specs made specially for this show. Bro and sis liked this show very much. It made the 350HK dollar entrance tickets worth the price. The 3D animation was very cool, unexpected storyline, carton characters and objects poppin out of the screen towards the audience. Many people even tried to catch the illusion with their bare hands. Even the adults laughed and enjoyed the show - rare sight in Disneyland. Besides the 3D effect, we could even feel the water splashes while the walking brooms splashed the place with water and the strong wind current as we rode on Aladdin's flying carpet.
Then, we headed to ride the boat. Ain't fun. Waited for more than 20 mins to go on a short route with uninteresting thingies at the side. The real fire was cool though. Could feel the intense heat of the huge flames.
Next, bro, sis and I merry-go-rounded.
Then we took our lunch at the neatly-designed Royal Banquet Hall. Food asspensive as expected.
Took a sight-seeing train arund the unexpectedly small HK Disneyland. 80% of the time on the ride we were starig blankly into dense tree growths. The planning of the travel route was dumb.
Random photos around Disneyland:
After that, we squeezed into the crowds at the pavements to check out the dancing parade. Here are some photos of the parade:
Explored the smal small world/小小世界.
Despite having my lesson learnt after puking at Genting, I got into one of the Mad Hatter's Cups. Decided not to spin the cup at 80km/h this time and safely avoided puking(watermelon incident).
It was nearing 6.45pm. Went to look for the venue where the Sleeping Beauty show is gonna take place. In the process, I almost ran into the main cast, the Sleeping Beauty itself while she was accompanied by his prince and a troop of red-costumed dancers heading towards the main stage. Good thing I din ran into her or else the show's gonna be canceled due to injury and I'll be banned from Disneyland for life. Damn funny incident haha. She was hot though, damn HOT, not to mention her melodious voice while she sang. I was lucky to be able to get so close to the cast. Whee~
Alright, back to the show. The crowd was overwhelming. Everyone arrived so early, the front spots are all taken(everyone stood thru the 15 mins show, no seats provided). Couldn't see shit. Many parents sacrificed themselves by letting their small kids sit on their shoulders and enjoy the show like VIPs while the parents stare blankly into the backs to the tall jabornies in front. The final finale was great though. The show ended with the Disneyland Castle being lit up and a jaw-dropping play of brilliant fireworks.
Had fast food for dinner in Tomorrowland. Went back to hotel and called it a day.
My parents along with other relatives who joined along for this trip went to 庙街 while we slept soundly back at the hotel.
Conclusion for the day:
1. Disneyland is fucked without the shows.
2. Many couples - romantic - taking photos tgther - hugging each other at all times as if th world's coming to an end - matching clothes and accessories, eg. mickey ears - both cute chicks and old hags wore them haha.
3. You can get Disneyland annual pass for only HK Dollar 650 and u can visit it anytime for a year, FOC. HK people got it lucky.
4. Each customers are given a special glass that allows u to see angels flying when looking at the light at night. It's only effective for small and distinct lights. PM me if u r interested to know more. The glasses are still with me. =)
